Srinagar, Dec 24 (KNO): The private diagnostic centres Thursday accused the health department clerks for creating "unnecessary" hurdles in registration despite the relaxation is given the government under the new norms in the Union Territory (UT).
Talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Umar Iqbal Dhar, President Private Diagnostic Centers J&K (PDCAJK), accused the clerks of violating the set protocols and providing wrong information to the district officials, thus forcing the people associated with the profession to face immense hardships.
Dhar said as per the rules, in each district a member from the diagnostic centre must be part of the team constituted, but barring Budgam and Bandipora not a single member has been included in the team.
Recently, Financial Commissioner, Health and Medical Education Department, Atul Dulloo on directions of Lieutenant Governor, established district registration authority for clinical establishments for which teams were constituted across the UT in each district.
As per the order, in the committee for clinical establishments, District Magistrate was made chairperson while SSP/SP, senior-level government officials, and a representative from the professional medical association were made members.
"Only senior doctors have been included who don't even have the time for inspections and spot visits," Dhar said.
Dhar claimed that in Kashmir, apart from their association, only one association -Diagnostic Centers and Pharmacists (Govt) is registered in the medical field Employees) but still their people across the valley are made to undergo immense mental pressure.
"Though registration is a serious part of the protocol and norms, the clerks across the valley have turned the same into a major issue for diagnostic centres who are serving the department at a particular office for over a decade at least," he claimed.
Dhar said that clerks still force them to follow the old protocol while under the new rules after the formation of Union Territory, the procedure has been eased out.
"Even after working hard and standing like a rock behind the government during the crisis time of the pandemic, the clerks are forcing us to face immense hardships," he said.
"We are told by clerks that only provisional certificates will be issued which will nullify all the hard work of the previous years," he said.
Dhar requested Financial Commissioner Health department, Atul Duloo, to verify the ground situation and take the clerks and officials to task for not giving space to a member from diagnostic centres in the respective teams—(KNO)
